My rescue dog Bailey has brought a tremendous amount of joy to my life. I was depressed and coming out of a bad relationship and was searching for a companion and I got more than I could ask for. When I went to 11th Hour Rescue, I was able to select three dogs from the kennel isles and have private, one on one time in a back room. When Bailey was brought in to me, she was very scared, quiet, and in need of love and attention. She didn't bark, had one floppy ear and one ear at attention, and couldn't stop licking my hands and face. We even played fetch with a tennis ball in the small room, and quickly I knew she was the one for me.
Bailey has brought so much joy to my life, making each experience together more rich. I like taking her fishing with me and on hikes, and try and include her on my weekend vacations. She loves running through the woods, always staying within eyesight, bolting around chasing squirrels and hopping like a kangaroo through the leaves and bushes. She loves to fetch sticks and loves playing with other dogs. As a rescue, she likes to stay close and can be very protective, but not aggressive, always following commands and quickly returning when I call her name. Although she is petrified of water, she enjoys walking on the beach and running around in the sand, at the beach or a volleyball court.
Bailey has truly become a part of my family, and I recommend dog adoption to all my friends and family. Adopting Bailey has been one of the best decisions of my life!
