The mission of paws4people is educating and empowering people to utilize Assistance Dogs to transform their lives.

Mason has had RUBY home with him since February 2017. Mason has been diagnosed with both Down Syndrome and Autism. Since having RUBY home Mason’s mother has seen a huge difference in Mason’s behavior. He is less anxious with RUBY by his side!

Aaron and HATTIE have been working together since December 2013. Aaron was adopted from Ethiopia weighing only 8 pounds at 5 ½ months of age. HATTIE is able to help Aaron during his therapy sessions and in the community with friends.  She also makes school visits to see him and educate his classmates.

Wendy, Anna’s mother, is the primary handler for Anna’s Assistance Dog, MOSS. Anna has been diagnosed with Autism and Reactive Attachment Disorder. MOSS is able to interrupt Anna’s negative behaviors and keeping her calm when she becomes anxious.

Mark is a 5^th grade teacher at Pine Valley Elementary School in Wilmington, North Carolina. His Facility Dog, PALMER, joins him at school everyday to interact with the students and help them reach their academic and behavioral goals. PALMER listens to students as they read to her and encourages them to complete their school work.
